Internet Marketing Real Estate Site - Member
This series of 16 articles are to help you go step, by step in setting up your web site correctly.
If you miss even the first steps you may be missing out on immediate visitor traffic
Many people even developers believe the first step in getting your web site up and running is getting your domain name. Though that is the goal of the first several steps it is not the first. If you do not know what these first few steps are, start here.
There is actually a way to find out how many people are looking for any given thing on the Internet. Because your domain name and keywords play such a huge role in search engine results it is correct that we set these two aspects up correctly, before anything else.
If your looking at creating a new site or updating your current site, these are great tools that we use all teh time.
Whats in a Domain Name...
Search Engines still use the domain Name as the beginning of any site evaluation. So if you are a Real Estate Agent, even though you are a consistent Top Producer having www.DealWithTheBigDog.com may not be a great Search Engine introduction.
I am surprised today to continually hear people are still buying Domain Names at NetworkSolutions. Although, there is something to being the very first Domain Name Registrar. I still think paying $34.95 is a bit much.
We have several other solutions for you where your next domain could be less that $10.00, or maybe FREE.
What is in a hosting company?
Do you need one? What do I really need?
Doesn't my Webmaster provide my hosting services?
What do Hosting companies provide?
What is the difference between a hosting company and a webmaster?
If any of these question are ones that you have asked yourself recently then you will find many of the answers you are looking for.
My first thoughts on the necessity of Webmasters, 1) Don't under estimate their ability to help you achieve the results you are looking for with your site, i.e. Search Engine Optimization, Navigation, Shopping Carts, Creating Dynamic Content, designing a page that sells.
Many people hire a Webmaster after several months/years of frustration and lack of results. Designing a web site is no longer a simple process. If you have the time, perseverence and abilities then you can certainly work it out.
Navigation within your site has several purposes.
If you don't do it right you can frustrate the Search Engines, your Clients and at the same time reduce the amount of time people are actually on your site.
So, we cover how you can use every aspect of your menu schemes to drive targeted traffic to your site as well as through your site.
If you have not heard, "Content is King" you better get out of the way or jump in with both feet!
So, the more content of value you have on your site the better off your site will be. This pertains to both your visitors and the Search Engines.
Because you are busy, the problem here is that you need to be able to manage it easily and quickly.
With the available tools these days available for real estate sites, it is easy and simple to extend the services you offer into a very robust presentation of meaningful information.
Many such tools are as simple to use as "Copying and Pasting" certain test into your web page. Others may take a few minutes to put together, but all in all you will provide your visitors with added value in both presentation/experience and information.
We can all design these great looking sites, but if the Search Engines can not understand what your site is about, your effort, time and money are wasted. More than likely, it will become some what of a frustration.
Even though the Search Engines change how they interpret web site and page information it is important to know that they also keep some of their methods the same. The more that you keep those basics in mind the better off you will be as the other changes take place. Often times finding your site moving closer to the top of the reults.
Everything is in place, so now it is time to ensure that you know how people are finding you. Is it through free keywords from Google, or PayPerClick from Yahoo, affiliates, articles...
If you are paying for trafic you certainly want to know if what you are paying is worth the expense.
I liked the way this Social Network sets up the process of obtaining your information. It is all in one place along with, being scalable. Take a look at the video so you know what they are asking for. Then get your information together and off you go.
Remember to be creative in what you provide, because you want to continue to separate yourself from everyone else as well as leave a lasting impression.
Unlike the larger Real Estate Social Network this is a great place for you to really make your mark as an expert and create a niche.
I have put together a short video that reviews the different areas of the site. So that you can always come back to this to see where everything is.
